Alana Lisa Scott was born to James and Pauline Taylor on December 5, 1964 in Paris, France. She was the youngest born to this union.
Alana accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age and continued to serve God all of her life. She attended Vernon Chapel A.M.E. Church. She received her education from the Detroit and Southfield Public School Systems in Michigan, graduating with the class of 1983. She moved to Colorado in the late 1980s.
In 1990, Alana began her teaching career. She taught science, anatomy, and pathophysiology courses at Pickens Technical and Arapahoe Community Colleges. She also served as Chairperson for Secondary Health Care and was a Health Care Educator for the Colorado Community College System. She was a passionate, fun, and knowledgeable educator and mentor. Her students loved her and enjoyed taking her classes.
Alana had a lifelong love of reading, crafting, keeping up with the latest fashions, and enjoying her shows. Alana was a great cook and loved making delicious recipes for her family and friends, she was known for her famous rolls. She loved sharing memories and laughing with her family. She was a loving wife and mother of three boys and adored them with all her heart. Alana was a beautiful and compassionate soul, always caring and spreading kindness.
She departed this earthly life peacefully with her family on September 28, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Pauline Taylor.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband and soulmate of 30 years, Chauncey Scott III. Her beloved sons, Marcus, Darius, and Devin. Sisters, Nicola Smith (Byron) and Erricka Martin (Merlin). Brother, Aaron Young (Sylvia). Stepmother, Karley W. Taylor. And a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends
