Aaron Kenneth Ayers Sr, was born to Morris Calvin Ayers Sr. and Francis V. Salazar-Ayers in Denver Colorado on February 2, 1963. He was the eighth child of 9 siblings.

Aaron attended Denver Public Schools including Columbine Elementary, Cole Junior High, and Manual High School, home of the Thunderbolts. Aaron was a dedicated athlete through and through, throwing himself into every sport he played. He participated in various sports. He boxed at St. Charles Recreation Center where he won the Golden Gloves Junior Championship. While attending Manual High School, he competed in cross country, track and field, and basketball. But of all the sports he played, he loved football the most. He played quarterback and earned recognition from the Rocky Mountain News as an All-City and All-State Quarterback. His teammates described Aaron as a true leader – one whose team trusted his leadership and respected him both on and off the field.

In the summer of 1981, he reconnected with his neighborhood friend Sharon Moore and the two what began as friendship soon blossomed into romance. In October of 1988, the two were joined in holy matrimony, becoming husband and wife. In this union, they welcomed 4 beautiful children Aaron Jr., JaLen, Kennisha and Janelle.

In August 1988, Aaron Sr. gave his life to the Lord under the Leadership Superintendent Roy W. Sudds, and was a faithful member of Light of Life Miracle Deliverance Church. In 1990, he received his Minster’s License to preach the gospel. He worked diligently in the ministry, teaching Sunday School, serving as a Prayer Team Leader, Nursing Home Ministry President, and ministered in Jail Ministry. Aaron Sr. love the Lord and love studying the Word of God. He also had a heart for taking care of the elderly and earned his Certified Nursing Assistant degree in 1991 and worked at Presbyterian St. Lukes Hospital.

Aaron Sr. was a strong man, a working man - he would always find a job to work until his health no longer allowed him to. He will always be remembered by his family for his hard work ethic, his love for football, and his humor and knack for making those around him laugh. On June 19, 2026, the Lord called Aaron Sr. home to rest from the many trials and tribulations he endured.

He leaves to cherish his memory his friend Ex-wife Pastor Sharon (Ayers) Leonard, his Children Aaron Jr. (Taran) JaLen (Kelsey) Kennisha (Sean) and Janelle. His sisters Janet Ayers, Jeanine Ayers and Arlene Ayers, his Brothers Vincent Jones, Steven Hill, and Morris C. Ayers Jr. 8 grandchildren Iriana, Imirah, Cree, Titus, Raiden, Midas, Marlee and Ja’Saun.

Aaron Sr. is preceded in death by his Father Morris C. Ayers Sr, his Mother Francisca V. Salazar-Ayers his brothers Anthony Jones and Patrick Ayers.

Aaron Kenneth Ayers Sr. will truly be missed, he will always be in our hearts.
