Mrs. Carolyne Woods

Carolyn woods was born September 18, 1957 in Denver Colorado to the late Jasper Lee Sr. and Lou Ethel Thurman. She was the second oldest of seven children. She attained her education through Denver Public School. She then went on to further her education through Levon Beauty Academy where she achieved her Cosmetology License. Carolyne jumped into the workforce at the early age of 14 with her first job at the Executive Inn, preparing and catering food. She continued her career with Curtis Burns before retiring from Denver Public Schools . In her late teens Carolyn met the love of her life Oldest Lee Wood jr. (Sonny) at Mr. Lucky’s, and united in marriage on August 4th, 1979. To this union 4 daughters were born. He will always remember their date nights. There was nothing better than a night on the town dancing together. Carolyne had a love for taking road trips with her children and family. She loved to sing and dance and attending concerts. She was also known for decorating all our birthday cakes and singing her favorite birthday song she made up. She was a very proud grandmother that enjoyed taking her grandchild on many adventures including our late night Sonic trips or a simple drive through the city. She was blessed with 3 great-grandchildren Who affectionately called her greaty granny. She was a great protector to her siblings and Children. Carolyn was very mature for her age and could put a full meal on the table at the age of nine. She was known for good cooking and her Dorito casserole, apple pie and peanut patty candy will be missed by many! Carolyne Woods departed this life February 12, 2023. She is proceeded in death by her parents Jasper Lee Sr. and Lou Ethel Thurman and her sister Wanda Thompson. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Odis Lee Woods Jr. Her 4 daughters Tanika Sullivan (Carl) , Cherise Thurman-Woods, Latasha Woods, and Patrice Woods ( Michael )all of Denver CO. Her 11 Grandchildren Jumeia, Dai’Jon, Cailyn, Davereon, Taneil, Deonte, Madison, Danielle, Paris, Morgan, and Mason. 3 great-grandsons all of Denver, CO. Her 3 sisters Annette Thurman , Denise Hysaw and Dorothy Thurman. Her 2 brother Gene Thurman and Jasper Thurman Jr. all of Denver, CO. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
