Hello everyone, this is Quinci Byrd, or as many of you lovingly called me, "Q". I was born on March 22, 1990, in beautiful Wiesbaden, Germany, and I've had a journey of a life, filled with colors, challenges, love, and adventures. I spent my childhood in Aurora, Colorado, where I discovered my passion for art and sports. I loved throwing myself into whatever I was doing, be it karate, baseball, basketball, or wrestling. When I wasn't on the field or in the dojo, you could find me with a paintbrush or pencil in hand, creating all kinds of magic. My art won many awards and was even displayed at the Aurora Mall. I was humbled and proud to be recognized for something that gave me such joy.
Life wasn't always easy for me. I've had my share of ups and downs, highs and lows. But I was resilient, and I carved out a life that was fulfilling and meaningful to me in its own unique way. I found solace in the company of my beloved cats, Mustapha, Covid, and Dust Bunny. Helping those in need, whether they walked on two legs or four, was my mission. I was always willing to use my time to give love, support, and kindness to those around me. I've been blessed to have grown up in a family that nurtured my talents and supported me through my challenges. My parents, Caprece and Quintin Byrd, my brother, Cory Henry, my grandmother, Shirley Meekins, my uncle, Bryant Watts, my aunt, Erica Byrd, my great aunt, Hazel Watts, and our dear family friend, Jane Lannak, have all been pillars of strength for me.
Yes, I encountered many storms, but I also saw many rainbows. I learned to roller blade, remember camping with my mom and my dog Maxine, tried my hand at fishing with my dad, and I ran track in high school. I was a part of the APA gifted and talented program and attended church with my mom in Aurora, Colorado. Life wasn't easy, but through it all, I learned to be generous, to love, and to appreciate the beauty in every day. To my family and friends, remember me as the loving, generous, talented, and resilient Quinci that you knew. Remember my art, my love for sports, and my compassion for all living beings.
See you on the other side.
